IBM is introducing a 275 MHz PowerPC 750 microprocessor.
The new chip -- the fastest and most powerful version of the PowerPC 750 microprocessor, which was introduced last year -- is now shipping to IBM customers for Mac OSTM applications. IBM expects that products incorporating the new processor, such as upgrade cards and systems, will be introduced by its customers over the next several months.
Among the first applications of the 275 MHz PowerPC 750 microprocessor will be CPU upgrade cards from Newer Technologies of Wichita, KS and Interware Co., Ltd. of Tokyo, Japan.

The price of the 275 MHz PowerPC 750 processor is $520 U.S. dollars in quantities of 1000 or more.
