Better Value Offering to Basic PC Desktop and Notebook Manufacturers

Las Vegas, Nevada, November 16, 1998 - Rise Technology Company today unveiled at Comdex Fall '98 pricing and availability of their first mP6 ™ microprocessor, the industry's first microprocessor designed from the ground up to meet the needs of the Basic PC market. Rise Technology demonstrated the mP6-266 microprocessor running a number of Windows-based multimedia applications. Through its innovative design, the mP6 microprocessor provides superior multimedia capabilities that were previously available only in expensive high-end performance PC's. "The availability of the Rise mP6 processor will significantly enhance the Basic PC offering in the channel," said David T. Lin, CEO of Rise Technology. "It will provide manufacturers the opportunity to offer Basic PC desktops and notebooks at competitive price points while providing features that are not available in other low-cost PC's."
